Auld Lang Syne

2016 has been one for the ages.  Celebrity deaths, political turmoil, the DOW approaching — and hovering below — 20k has made for quite the year.  There have been a few ups, a lot of downs, and it seems widely agreed that, in summation, 2016 was a year to forget.

But not 2017! In the next year, the world is your oyster. We can fresh squeeze the new year and let the juices drip down our chins (credit GLC for that one — but hopefully not the same result of his ‘Summer of George’). For us, that means drinking too much champagne on the 31st, reassessing our life and choices on the 1st in a hungover state of mourning, and pulling ourselves up by our bootstraps on the 2nd, ready to fight and win for the next four days — gotta love short weeks, no need to overdo it on the first one of the year.

We have found, in our biased experience, that a great way to bring in the new year is with a new suit.  Just like ‘they’ always say, new suit, new you (right?). Sportcoats are great, but there is nothing like the formality, ease, and I’ve-got-it-togetherness of the full suit. If I may, I recommend a deep char-blue — I have a feeling this is going to be a theme color for 2017.

Pour one out for 2016 this weekend — because come Monday, all things are possible.
